With winter close on our heels, I’ve been planning some “warm-n-cozy”-type projects and when I came across Shi Bui I instantly fell in love. The Japanese company has some of the best styling I’ve seen when it comes to photography for their knitting patterns.

Their mix collection is particularly lovely and the silk cloud and alpaca yarns are unbelievably soft. So far, I’ve made the hat on the left and have plans of tackling the two sweaters this winter. Let’s hope we see more loveliness from Shi Bui soon!

The first leg of our trip was a lot of driving (14 hours the first day!) but we covered a lot of ground and were able to even see a few extra places like the Tetons and Jackson Wyoming. After all that driving to get out to Oregon, we were able to spend a few nights in Bend with some day trips through the Deschutes and to Crater Lake. Then we crashed in Portland with my brother and sister-in-law for a few nights and ate our way through the city. (If I had to pick my favorite I’d say either Porqué No? or Bollywood Theater….YUM!).
It was a fast and fun 6 days.

To be continued…

It was one of the happiest weekends in a way that felt so right for us. This past year we’ve had 2 big career changes, travels around the globe & across the country, new adventures with family and friends and making our new traditions along the way. From here, Year 2 looks to be even more exciting! I’m a lucky girl.
A big thanks to the two talented dudes that captured the weekend so perfectly for us.

I can’t believe it but it’s almost been 1 year since we were married! We had big plans of slipping away for a long weekend in NYC to celebrate. But life happened and with our schedules filling up and neither of us wanting to plan said trip we opted for our go-to favorite. A tent, a campfire, and walks through the woods. Perfection!

I was introduced to Amon Tobin through a friend about year ago and I was instantly won over. I’m heading to the show tonight and the stage setting alone is worth the ticket. It also doesn’t hurt that Holy Other is opening.
Should be a good show. You can also check out a sort of “behind-the-scenes” video with a some background on creating the set.

I’ve never really been a fan of summer. Being outside usually results in some nasty sunburns and 90+ degree weather makes me a shut-in, running for the AC. For me, it doesn’t get much better than September. The shift of mentality that comes with the change in seasons, crisp scents in the air, cozy clothes and all of the delicious food that comes along with it. I love it all. Bring it.

The other night during my usual “why-isn’t-there-anything-new-on-Netflix?!” shuffle, I stumbled on this old favorite that I haven’t watched in years. I’m still in love with the story and how it’s paired so flawlessly with Gondry’s style. To me, it’s just a perfect little film.

A few of the things that have been distracting me this month…
A. A good read: The Way Through Doors
B. An addicting show in it’s final season: DING DING DING!
C. A Netflix doc: Urbanized
D. A good song: Grimes “Oblivion”
E. A cold drink: I’m not a big beer drinker but I discovered sour beer while in Portland. Much more of a wine flavor than a hoppy heavy feeling. The Duchess is my fav so far.
F. An old favorite: Click and Clack the Car Talk Guys are retiring in October after 25 years. Get in the final new episodes while you can.
