Good Books for the Chilly Days Ahead

October 19th, 2011

With the weather quickly changing from golden October to grey November we’re already beginning the great migration indoors. To ease the shock of suddenly chilly temps, I wanted to share a few good books with you!

“One Day” is a sweet and sometimes sad story of two friends who can never get the timing right. It was just made into a movie starring Anne Hathaway. I’m in.

I’m just finishing up “Shop Class as Soulcraft” and although it can get a bit technical at points, it’s an interesting perspective on “craft” and those of us who are drawn to these fields.

Sloane Crosley’s second book of short stories “How Did You Get This Number” is just as good, if not better than her first. It’s a fun, quick read…perfect for those of us with somewhat diminished attention spans.

“The Collector” is based in mid-century England and is probably one of my favorite thrillers I’ve read. Über creepy.

  1. I just finished a book today, so this list could not come at a more perfect time! Thanks for sharing – I think I’m going to check out “One Day” first…I’m a sucker for romance! :)
