Monday Morning Hello – Snowed In
December 13th, 2010Hi there all! Hope you had a lovely little December weekend in your corners of the map. There’s not much I love more than prepping Christmas decorations, getting together with friends and watching some classic holiday movies all while watching the snow softly falling outside. However, that wasn’t in the cards for us this weekend. Stuff got REAL here in Minnesota. We’re talking 24 hours of constant snow and near white-out conditions.

After watching it fall all morning on Saturday, I forced Ned outside to play in the snow. I did most of the playing. He did more of the standing and looking cold.

The remainder of the weekend was spent keeping cozy inside, watching “A Christmas Story” and working on some orders for Locality. I even made my first attempt at making homemade cinnamon rolls which turned out to be somewhat of a double edged sword. They were a success and incredibly delicious but when you’re trapped inside with limited food choices, eating 4 in a day probably isn’t the best solution. ;)

Sunday the snow stopped but I stepped outside only to survey the aftermath. Other than snow piled up taller than cars and the occasional person or two getting stuck in their driveway (a proud MN rite of passage), nothing too terrible went down around me. I love this time of year!

I still can’t get over the roof collapse.
We cozied up inside too – one car in the garage, one outside. This morning my husband took the one outside…we all know that was a bad choice haha!
Adore the picture of you in the hat with your eyes peeking out :)
I can’t believe how much snow you guys got! I feel like I should fed ex you a shovel, or maybe some hot chocolate mix! Stay warm, miss :)
hahahaha…yea. You’d think we’d be prepared. I actually keep a little shovel in my car year-round. Never know ;)
I’m in northwestern Iowa only about 15 miles from the MN border and our weather was awful too!! We got snow but even worse was the WIND… oh my god the WIND!!! Half of our driveway didn’t even need to be shoveled and the other half had a 4 foot drift. So there’s that. Yikes!
I had heard about the metrodome collapse but hadn’t seen it. I know it’s going to be crazy expensive to fix…but wow it was pretty badass to see!
i think i will loove snow too..
but i live on a tropical country and have never been going to another country who has snow.
keep warm dear.. ;)
